If your existing Smoke alarms are hardwired they must be replaced with the photoelectric type, 240v hardwired and interconnected. Adding extra alarms to your home? We can install sealed 10 year lithium battery alarms which interconnect wirelessly via an optional 240v wifi base that interconnects all alarms. This saves costs on wiring for the alarms and is ideal for double storey homes where adding cabling is not practical. 
They should be installed in the following locations, One in every bedroom. One in hallways or areas leading to bedrooms, and at least one per level of the house.
How long until I need to Upgrade?Smoke alarms must be replaced every 10 years anyway but if you thinking about...Building or renovating: NOWIf you're selling, leasing, or renewing a lease: From January 1st, 2022.If you own your home: January 1st, 2027.
Many Smoke alarms come with a standard 9v battery backup which still needs to be replaced every year or so.
